Josef Kaluf

Born in Beirut in 1979, Josef Kalüf obtained his B.A. in Advertising and Marketing from NDU in 2001. Worked as Production Assistant on "Our Father… On Earth" Feature Film directed by Mounir Maasri in 2002, then began working as freelance Production Manager and Producer with Lebanese Production Companies on TV Commercials, Documentaries, and Fiction Films. Josef also worked as Boom Operator on Philippe Aractingi's "Bosta" Feature Film in 2005 and took part in several student short film projects as Production Manager and Assistant Director. In the year 2006, he worked on another Feature Film "Amour d'Enfants" directed by Fares Khalil as Producer, Casting Director, and Sound Recordist. In 2008, Josef completed his short film "The House That Once Was Home", which was selected at the Cyprus International Film Festival (CIFF 2009).

The film is an open letter whereby the son faces the ex-militant father with facts and feelings that were never exposed. After thirty years of repressed feelings, Josef decides finally to confront his father Georges, the ex-militant and fighter with the "Kataeb" about his past, his decisions, and their relationship, which was subject to many imperfections.
