Mahdi Fleifel is a Danish/Palestinian filmmaker based in Amsterdam. He graduated from theUK National Film and Television School in 2009. His debut feature, ‘A World Not Ours’, waswidely acclaimed, earning over thirty awards including prizes at the Berlinale, the EdinburghFilm Festival and DOC NYC. His upcoming feature, ‘Men In The Sun’ is based on the themes and characters encounteredwhile making his recent works, and is currently being developed with New Danish Screen.
Xenoz tells the untold stories of Palestinian refugees living on the streets of Athens, Greece: their day-to-day survival methods, both in terms of food and shelter, and in terms of their mental wellbeing. With the heavy toll that their dash for freedom has taken, do they still believe in the dream of Europe?
