Uncle Nashaat
Aseel Mansour

Jordanian Filmmaker, born in Baghdad in 1977. Aseel moved to Amman, Jordan in 1991. He received a Master’s degree in Media Psychology from Walden University Minnesota in 2010. In 2010, Aseel founded Shashat, a multimedia production company in Amman, Jordan. He is the winner of Amman Filmmakers cooperative’s award “Best Filmmaker of the year 2004” for his film “Alert Guns”. He also won the special mention award for Arab Film in Jordan Short Film Festival 2006 for his film “Little Feet”.

Nashaat is a Palestinian fighter who was killed by the Israelis in 1982. When Aseel, Nashaat’s nephew, comes across a fact that makes him doubt the circumstances of his uncle’s death, he embarks on a quest to uncover the truth. Not only does this quest lead Aseel to disturbing facts, but it also makes him understand the real reasons behind his own broken relationship with his father during his childhood.

Shashat Productions was established in Amman, Jordan in 2010. It is one of the first production companies in the region that has a multi-screen strategy, with a skillset for producing for different screens: Cinema, TV, Web, and Mobile.
